This is one of the most senic events in the west.  The Bighorn Mountains did not disappoint.  Dayton is a very small town with a small town feel.  It was very impressive how welcoming everyone was.  It seemed like everywhere we went, the locals were very excited the event was going on and offering up congratulations and good lucks.  Such a great vibe.

Sheridan, a bit bigger city about 20 minutes from Dayton, was very accomodating as well and like the locals in Dayton everyone in Sheridan was very supporitve.

I was able to pace my friend from Sally’s Footbridge to Jaws and back to Sally’s.  This was a 36 mile trip and split basically 18mi up and 18mi down.  The views were amazing and the aid stations along the way were well staffed and ran like a well oiled machine.  I do admit Elk Camp was best.  very remote and just had the allure of being in a true mountain race.
