Awesome Race- Highly Recommended for new and experienced Crew

  • After the gun goes off, depending on your runner, you have about an hour to get to the first aid station; N. 24th street W. I suggest this route: left onto the W Railroad St. Right on Garfield. Straight through the light which changes to Piedmont Ave. left on W 4th which then turns into W 5th then right on N. 24th Ave W. Go all the way up and the aid station is on the right- you’ll cross over the path they take crossing the road to get back on the trial. Turn right into the parking lot- you’ll see the aid station tent.
  • Parking: you’ll be fine
  • If you choose to take SkyLine Parkway from Migney-Snivley aid station to Munger TH aidsation, just a heads up that is fairly narrow and a windy, dirt road. If its a beautiful day youre fine. We had 1-2 inches of snow and I wouldn’t take the road. I went back out to 35.
  • At the Munger Trailhead aid station, I had a bunch of my runners wet clothes and gloves due to the raining/wintery mix so I found a laundromat in the next city called “Soak N Sudz” . I brought all the clothes there and spent 75 cents for 30 minutes of drying. 219 Commonwealth Ave Duluth, MN 55808 (as known as “New Duluth”/”Gary”)
  • KwikTrip provides free hot water and sells the styrofoam cup of Ramens. It was a cold day and my runner loved the noodles and broth.
  • There is a fun little coffee shop called “The Warming house” in Cloquet. They serve chili, some sandwiches, ice cream, etc. I sat and did some work in between the Munger Trail and Oldenberg aid station (30 miles). It’s about 2 hours- 2 ½ hours, depending on your runner.
  • There is also a Walmart and a SuperOne in Cloquet, (off MN-33) along with a handful of fast food restaurants. These are all conveniently located between the Munger TH aid station and the Oldenberg aid station.
  • If you’re bored, there is a casino (and Hotel) called Black Bear in Carlton. It’s small, clean and kills some time! (and Smoke Free..and all the free pop/coffee you can drink- self serve!) If anything, just go in there to fill up on drinks! It’s the same exit you take to the turnaround Oldenberg aid station.
